Heartbroken
By just looking at it she said it was HPV/genital warts. She burned it right then and there and made an appt. for me next Wed. for a follow up. What I think is weird is that she didn't say that I was going to get further tests done or even a papsmear nothing. (??) Unless she's planning on it next week and didn't say anything to me. Actually she just told me not to have sex until my next visit next week and then I was on my way. A little history. I've only been w/ 2 partners in my life. I am 33 and was w/ my first partner for 5 yrs. - single for 3 yrs. - in a new relationship now 7 months. My mind has been racing a hundred miles per hr thinking if it was my ex or my current bf who gave me this. The last papsmear I had was in 2010. I have Kaeser insurance and am always being told that I only need a pap every 3-5 yrs. SO I don't know if the warts are new or old.
you are not alone in this..i too recently was diagnosed with genital warts and given some medications to apply.they dissappeared but have come back again.this time they seem to be spreading n they are all over my genitals..i feel so bad coz i dont even nu how i got them.i blame myself for acquiring this coz i nu ill have it for the rest of my life..am so depressed about it and dont even know what to do..i dont even nu how to tell my partner..am so scared about the next doctor's appointment i keep postponing..the worst feeling is the fear of being rejected when pple find out!!
Thx for the reply Gocha. Can I ask you how long after they were treated did you notice that they came back again? I just had mine burned yesterday. I'm praying that this nighmare goes away soon and that the warts I have will go away fast and that I won't get anymore. I have found 3 tiny almost invisible little somethings on my gums in my mouth. I think they are warts BUT I had my OB/GYN check them yesterday but she doesn't think they are. I'm going to my reg. dr. tom. to have her take another look. Some drs. don't even know what warts look like. At least that has been my experience when I found them myself and went to get checked. I had to tell them where to look. What did your dr. do to diagnose you w/ HPV/genital warts (did she perform any tests)? Mine didn't do any tests, so I'm thinking about looking for another dr. I feel your pain but it is very impo. to make sure your partner gets checked as well to make sure he doesn't have any; otherwise you will both be spreading them back and forth. Hugs-
