4 years now

Posted in Group:

I have had mild dysplasia for 4 years now. I was dating a nasty guy that I had no business at all dating. I knew he was bad but I was lonely and I believed that it would work. He is long gone but I have this constant reminder of how stupid and awful I was. I curse myself everyday for letting this happen to me. I've had 4 colposcopies and abnormal paps for the past 4 years. I'm sad and very worried about this. My doctors says since it hasn't cleared I should think about the LEEP procedure. I really don't want to do that since I'm only 29 and I want to have children in the future. I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of it naturally. I also think that there is a like between yeast infections and hpv. When I was diagnosed with hpv I had a yeast infection for like a solid 2 years. They finally stopped a bit over a year ago. But now I fear that it is starting up again. Does anyone know if mild dysplasia can reverse after 4 years? Also, has anyone else had reccuring yeast infections after hpv? I just want to move past that horrible time in my life but this is a constant reminder. I just want to feel "normal" again.

Ok, here is what I could find in response to the questions you had. If you continue to have abnormal paps then it is unlikely that the dysplasia will disappear on its own, only after several clean paps is dysplasia considered "healed." Yeast infections and HPV have no connection, but can often be confused with an outbreak.

To help alleviate future yeast infections you may want to evaluate your diet and cut out yeast and sugar products and switch to a more natural vs. prepared food diet. Eat plain yogurt and add acidophilus powder into your diet. Drink lots of water (for more information google candida diet).

I hope this helps you achieve "normalcy."

Thank you so much for your comment. When you say outbreak what do you mean by that? I have mild dysplasia, I don't have warts. What could the yeast be an outbreak of?

Sorry-I meant that sometimes people get confused as to whether the yeast infection is a HPV outbreak. Bottom line yeast infections are not connected to HPV as far as the medical community is concerned according to my research.
